Introduction
Hello again! ππ»π
If you’ve stumbled across this article, it might be because you asked someone where the bookmarks are and they possibly sent you to me.
Don’t worry, I’m not here to pick on you because you don’t know. But I might have answers.
The answer is:
Bluesky doesn’t natively have a bookmarking function at the time of writing this.
But worry ye not, there’s a workaround and it can all be done on Bluesky. π
I knew you couldn’t stay away! π
Before I continue, I’m just going to ask if you could consider buying me a coffee. You can do that on the link below.
Buy Mike Jay a coffee through his Amicite account on Ko-Fi.
Now let’s talk bookmarking and how to do it.
As always, there’s a contents menu… It’s somewhere around here… with quick links to specific sections on this article, which will take you straight to that point.
You can even right click on the links and Copy link address and when you share them, it’ll take those clicking on it… directly to that section.
I also added a Google Translate function to the site. If you need to view the page in any other language, you can now do so. I hope it’s helpful.
Let’s continue. Shall we?
Instructions
3 steps to follow
Step 1 - Pin the π (Pushpin) Feed
You need to pin a feed to your home feed screen first.
Click on any of the title or description text on the π (Pushpin Feed) card.
It’s around here somewhere.
If you want to know who made this feed, press on the @ handle on the card.
When it has loaded, either in your web browser on desktops and laptops, or in the Bluesky application on Android or iOS, you’ll end up seeing that in the screenshot provided.
Do you see theΒ
Press it.
This will add a π emoji icon to the home feed pinned feeds bar.Β
Step 2 - Pin a post
Find a post (or reply) then reply to it with the π (Pushpin) emoji. There are NO menu options.
The next step is to find something interesting to pin.
Find a post or reply that’s worth pinning. Now you’re here, press the speech bubble on a post or reply and the reply composer will open.
Inside here input the π (pushpin) emoji icon. You can do this with or without an actual comment you want to make on the post or reply.
Once you’ve done this, post your reply.
Step 3 - Go to the π (Pushpin) Feed
Finding, using and opening the π (Pushpin) Feed.
Now that you’ve done this go to your home feed screen and where the feeds are stored. You’ll find the pinned feeds bar at the top, scroll left and right until you find the π (pushpin) emoji. And press it.
Surprise!!!
It should be there... What to do if it isn't?
Your pinned post should be in there, if it isn’t, swipe down from the top of the feed to refresh or if using a browser press the refresh button and it should appear.
You just have to repeat steps 2-4 to pin and check it has been added to the π (Pushpin) feed.
Outro
That was short wasn't it?
I really hope that helps.
It did help? Right?
If you want to change where the π is on your home feeds top bar, then have a look at Bluesky for eXiters – Feeding YourselfΒ you’ll find the answer there.
This was a short one, if you actually did find it useful, feel free to share with others and make sure to give it a like, maybe bookmark it. π
It’s been fun peeps. Gonna type up some more stuff because guides are helpful… Apparently. ππ»π€ͺ
