Why I refuse to stay on x
I have my reasons and they are many
That X place is, by a long distance, the most wrecked social media platform to exist.
Even beating Facebook, in my opinion.
Let me quickly get to my reasoning.
Elon Musk started by implementing premium accounts, these then became 3 kinds:
– Basic
– Premium
– Premium Plus
Both premium options can profit from anything they post.
What most people stubbornly want to ignore is how those with a premium account are paid.
Adverts displayed to Free and Basic subscription users across the platform and comments are what increases the pot, irrespective of a user clicking the advert. X gets paid regardless, for just displaying the adverts.

Elon Musk’s involvement in the UK riots and political debacle only made things worse, with Blue and Gold tick holders amplifying his comments, increasing the possibility of triggering those opposed to them.
And with news that the events in the UK may have been a prelude to attempting it in the US with the election. He has far too much sway.
It’s also allowed derogatory phrasing, racism, misogyny, bigotry, gender hatred, ableism, attacks on individuals with mental health concerns, religious hate and way more to go unchecked and inactioned even through a reporting system that requires checking and actioning.
This also means that those adverts that were and are displayed to you, funded and paid for hate and disinformation. And will continue to do so.
And you’re wanting to stay on the X anti social platform also known as Truth Social 2.0 arsehole edition?
Why? Your thousands of followers? Those that are already on places like Bluesky, Threads, Facebook, Instagram…
Stay there if YOU want. I refuse to be responsible for my existence on X funding malicious, hate filled, disinformation campaigns.
My moral conscience and personal values will not allow my presence on a highly negative platform to affect any all my friends, followers and allies, whether they have a different skin colour, irrespective of gender including trans people, sexuality, religion/creed, disabilities, mental health or how they look.
Being targeted by trolls in the last 2 and a half years of constant use, has helped this decision. It’s far too toxic for me to remain.
