Whether you prefer to boycott certain companies or consciously avoid USA-, Israeli-, or Russian-owned chains, products, services, or tech, that choice should reflect your own character, morals, and principles.

We’ve created these lists especially for our audience in the United Kingdom. That said, some of the businesses featured may also operate across Europe, North America, South America, or Oceania. Ownership structures can vary by country, and brand names are sometimes licensed from the original Ultimate Owner. So, if you’re outside the UK, it’s always smart to double-check the ownership details against reliable sources such as Wikipedia for your specific region.

Ah, the energy suppliers. Because if the banks aren’t rinsing you on the high street, these lot are definitely having a go at your direct debit.

I’ve pulled the 2026 audit for the UK Energy sector. A couple of notable updates for your records: OVO Energy just had a major leadership shakeup a few months ago, with Chris Houghton returning as CEO to replace David Buttress. Meanwhile, Centrica’s Chris O’Shea is still pocketing a rather eye-watering £4.7m package despite everything.

You will notice something unique about this sector array: it is entirely Azure (No Boycott). The UK domestic energy market is heavily regulated and almost exclusively dominated by UK firms, the French state (EDF), Spanish conglomerates (ScottishPower), and German utilities (E.ON). Wall Street and private equity haven’t managed to successfully swallow the domestic supply side here, so you won’t find any US “Yes” flags in this specific list.
