Ready to get your Quiz on?
To Participate...
You must choose either Guest mode (using the toggle) to not share any data, this also stops your score from being recorded.
Or, using UIM (User Input Mode), choose to input a name/ID or Social Media platform from the list and input your name in the text input area to have your name and a link to your profile added to the highscores leaderboard (if name/id input is selected, you will only see basic text on the leaderboard).
THOSE USING THEIR BLUESKY ACCOUNT USE YOUR FULL HANDLE: E.G. YOURNAME.BSKY.SOCIAL

GDPR Compliance - Data Storage Details
To ensure we follow GDPR guidelines, the quiz Start button is automatically disabled until you choose whether you use Guest mode or User Input mode on Amicite’s Criterium quiz system, these 2 handling methods have the following setup:
Guest Mode
Guest mode is a toggle on the Start page of the quiz system which gives a playing user the option to effectively choose to play with no data handling where a user would be usually defined; the Criterium quiz system will automatically refer to you as Guest at all times. Toggling this will allow the Start Quiz button to be pressed. Also if you previously inputted using User Input mode, please note that Guest mode will take priority if toggled after inputting details. You keep your anonymity. However, this also means that no score will be added to the Highscore/Leaderboard database.
It will still allow you to, on the Results page, after quiz completion, to share your score and the quiz link to Bluesky, Mastodon, X, Whatsapp, Telegram and Reddit; with a link only sharing option for Facebook and LinkedIn.
Using Share Image will open up your devices share popup/model/window in Android, iOS and Windows.
Using Download Image is function that allows you to download the image that would be generated using the Share Image button.
All references to “the user” are replaced with Guest.
User Input Mode
User Input mode is the dropdown and text input on the Start page of the quiz system which allows users to input a name for the player to be displayed on the Results Page, Score Image and Highscores Leaderboard.
Using the dropdown, select from:
- Input Name/ID – This allows you to put your name or other form of identifier for yourself; visible as plain text on the leaderboard.
- Bluesky – Add your handle without the @ to the text input box. For example it for me would be: mikejay.link or yourname.bsky.social. What this does is automatically creates a link to your Bluesky profile with your handle on the leaderboard.
- Mastodon – Add your full handle (name and instance), for example: @yourname@mastodon.social. This will automatically produce the correct Mastodon user profile link and will display your handle as a link on the leaderboard.
- X/Twitter – Add your handle without the @ to the text input box. For example: yourname. What this does is automatically creates a link to your X/Twitter profile with your handle on the leaderboard.
- Reddit – Add your username without the u/ to the text input box. For example: yourname. What this does is automatically creates a link to your Reddit profile with your handle on the leaderboard.
- LinkedIn – Add your profile slug from linkedin.com/in/yourname to the text input box. For example: yourname. What this does is automatically creates a link to your LinkedIn profile with your handle on the leaderboard.
- Telegram – Add your username without the @ to the text input box. For example: yourname. What this does is automatically creates a link to your Telegram profile with your handle on the leaderboard.
On the Results page, after quiz completion, to share your score and the quiz link to Bluesky, Mastodon, X, Whatsapp, Telegram and Reddit; with a link only sharing option for Facebook and LinkedIn.
Using Share Image will open up your devices share popup/model/window in Android, iOS and Windows.
Using Download Image is function that allows you to download the image that would be generated using the Share Image button.
All references to “the user” are replaced with the users chosen Input mode as plain text, if Input Name/ID is selected -OR- if a Social Platform is selected and handle/username is added; a link on the highscores leaderboard as a link.
User Input Mode - Score Removal Requests
When I developed the Criterium quiz plugin, I made sure to add a system to ensure I can remove scores should a user wish it removed. All that is required is the Quiz of the entry, the Social Platform chosen in the dropdown and the handle/username. I will then remove any entries with those details.
I’m still designing a system for this. Manual removal is possible though.
